Where the Plane Took Flight

After such success with his research on the heart and gaining such credibility through his education, Ivan Pavlov was awarded the honor of organizing and directing the Department of Physiology at the Institute of Experimental Medicine. Here, Pavlov continued his research for the next 45 years.

It was here at the Institute of Experimental Medicine where Ivan Pavlov's famous experiment into the science of conditioned reflexes with dogs and their salvation reflexes was conducted. Through his studies, Ivan Pavlov was able to provide the explanation that the psychic activity was a reflex nature. He later named this discovery conditioned reflexes.

Because of such success in his studies, Pavlov was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1904. Pavlov died on February 27, 1936 after many decades of success. He changed the way of physiology.
